April 21st, 2008 creative, historical, personal, spiritual
On Saturday, April 12, 2008, a group of thirty diverse people gave tribute to the red-headed Messianic Jew who brought us all together through prayer, friendship, and Pepsi. If you weren’t able to join us, we hope the following will be meaningful to you.
- Memorial Bulletin (2MB pdf)
- Memorial Audio Recording (30MB, 74min mp3)
- Elder Abraham Phonemail Prank (1MB, 2min mp3)
- Photo Slideshow (as seen above, 9MB, 2min mp4)
- Jewish, Presbyterian, and Episcopal Prayers (72KB pdf)
- Memory book in pdf form (coming soon)
If you’d like to leave comments about the memorial, please do so here. If you’d like to leave a few words in memory of Andy, that might belong better on this post.

Andy,
You will be missed but, never forgotten! Thanks for all the good times, encouragement, and exhortations. May the Lord’s hand be on all those who are healing from your loss. We love you Andy! Your heart for the Lord still moves me to this day!
Love in Christ,
Troy S. Smith

I still can’t believe that you’re gone Andy, but I’m so glad I had you as a friend during the darkest years of my life at VA Tech. Greg and I always looked up to you for inspiration and support; thank you for being one of the best friends I could ever have asked for during the worst of times. I will carry your legacy onward through the battles I face. Rest in peace, soldier.

I miss Andy, and listening to the “Memorial Audio Recording”, really take me back to when I first met him while at Virginia Tech. Andy and I were roommates for about 2 months in the summer of 2000. He had this explosive laugh and an eagerness to learn about the scriptures. I’m blessed to have known him, and know that many others feel the same.
Blessings,
Jonathan
