The Shaping of Things to Come: Preface
May 18th, 2006 literary

This summer our staff team at [nlcf] is reading The Shaping of Things To Come by Michael Frost and Alan Hirsh. The former is Australian born Irish Catholic and the latter a South African Jew now living in Australia. They make the point that their perspective as Australians gives them a unique voice of commentary since they are, as Australians like to say, in the West but not of it.
It should be noted that Australia is birthplace to many world influences such as Mel Gibson, Nicole Kidman, Men at Work, Crowded House, AC/DC, INXS, Kylie Minogue, Keith Urban, and The Newsboys. In addition, it was the location of great films like the Matrix and Finding Nemo. In a land with kangaroos, koalas, and platypi, these people are used to seeing the out-of-the-ordinary so I think we should expect to find unique insight from our down-under brothers.
If you would like to read along and post comments, please do, that’s what blogs are for.
