Fox News Neil Cavuto Interviews Ron Paul 12-19-07

Here’s an interesting commentary on my previous post about the Candidate Christmas Commercials. I realize twenty-four-hour news channels are hard pressed for content but this is repugnant. They put the man out on a snowy street corner in New Hampshire and bludgeon him with asinine questions trying to get him to lash back or say something inconsistent. They can’t resort to logical dialog because they know how foolish their accusations are, so they try to catch him off guard and overwhelm him with shallow pointed questions, to no avail.

Notice how the interviewer mumbles under his breath at the end, “And to be fair, your campaign has raised well over $10,000,000 in a week…” To end a conversation with the phrase “And to be fair…” seems to imply that you knew you weren’t being fair up until that point! Fox News: fair and balanced …in closing muttered statements. This is how the majority of Americans gain their information about the world: through entertainment-driven Jerry Springer-style news reporting.
