He’s old enough to know what’s right
But young enough not to choose it
He’s noble enough to win the world
But weak enough to lose itHe’s a new world man
~ New World Man by Rush, album: Signals, 1982
I find myself on this interface in my life. I can look back on these years since graduating college and see that I have grown in wisdom but part of this wisdom is the realization that I have infinitely far to go. Geddy Lee’s verse here minds me of Paul’s famous tongue-twisting
paradoxical soliloquy: “I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do.” (Romans 7:15)
